We are located in Sydney Forks, Nova Scotia, Canada, on Route 4, 10 km (6 miles) west of Sydney between the communities of Howie's Centre and East Bay.
Resurrection Cemetery was established in 1964 as a non-profit service company on land which was once farmed by Charles and Rita Mary MacIsaac of Sydney Forks, Nova Scotia.
We are a community based organization dedicated to providing a dignified cemetery for all who use our services. Families have long entrusted Resurrection Cemetery with the care of their loved ones during their time of need. You can be assured that we will do our best to take care of all the details, so you can focus on what is most important - the remembrance of a life and the family and friends gathered to celebrate that life. We're families too, so we treat your family as we would want to be treated - with respect and with the knowledge that we'll provide a warm and caring environment worthy of a life to be remembered. We believe everyone deserves a resting place where all who visit leave with a feeling of comfort and serenity. Although established as a Christian burial ground, we invite all who wish to use our facilities from different cultures and faiths to dialogue with us to see if we can meet their needs.
Resurrection Cemetery takes great pride in maintaining our landscaped grounds, lush with many species of trees and shrubs of both exotic and native origin.
You may search our database of burial records so you can determine who is buried on our grounds, their date of interment, and where they are located in the cemetery. The search feature displays a printable map of the cemetery grounds, indicating the location of a burial as well as the names of the markers which surround it.
If you visit the cemetery during regular office hours (Late Spring to Early Autumn: Monday to Friday - 10:00 to 12:00 in the morning and 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon) (or Late Fall to Early Spring: Monday to Friday - 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon) we will be pleased to conduct the search for you, direct you to the gravesite and print out a map if needed.
Our site also contains descriptions for lot and monument choices as well as details on rules and regulations, contact information, location, staff bios and more.
